Over singing

You know exactly what I am talking about !

MaaaaaAHHary had a little, I said a li li li little  laaaahamb a little lamb   Oh I said she had it.  Oh Maaaaryeee had a little laaaaaaamb

I am sure you are annoyed by reading this. Imagine  listening to someone  SING LIKE THAT.

Oversinging  takes on many forms, but  commonly appears as excessive belting, riffing and ad-libbing. These are very valuable tools for a singer, but over use can detract from the message of the song and its performance.  One technique that I use to avoid oversinging involves speaking the lyrics to the song  with the correct emotion, and then selecting and balancing the vocal techniques that will help you to deliver those  emotions and that message.

Over singing a song takes away more than it adds to a song and its meaning.  Use inflections, ad-libbing,  riffing,  improvisation techniques,  dynamics and ornaments appropriately.  Use these techniques to emphasize  the meaning of the song with good vocal delivery.

" Sing it the way you would say it."

I would rather someone  tell  me "I love the way you sing"  than  "you sing good."
